| Once I heard a joke that in every instance of your life you have only two choices to make. Ultimately, the end of the joke said that you had two choices...you could go to heaven or Hell. If you go to heaven that's great. If you went to hell you would be shaking the hands of all your friends so you wouldn't notice you were in Hell. Hmmm...this book is not a take-off on a joke that trivializes Hell. It is, however, eternally serious about making choices from which you will benefit... eternally. Dr. MacDonald leads you through 10 choices that will change your life. I enjoyed reading it because not only is it an easy read, but there is some heavy lifting because of the decisions you make. In every instance (chapter) YOU CHOOSE! You make the choice of whether to believe in the choice or not. Dr. MacDonald leads you through each choice. He tells you what choice you have, and why it is important to make the choice. In every instance, he brings to the forefront God's word and how you figure into not only God's word, but the choice you need to make. I think this book can be very helpful to many, not only people who don't know God, but to the Christian who has along the way, either forgot why he made the choices or has become distracted by the world and has not thought about those choices. Are you going to choose God's Love? God's Forgiveness? Jesus Christ as Lord? the Bible as God's Word? Forgiveness? Trust? These are just a few of the choices you will be asked to make. To understand the choices and what they mean to you, read the book. After all, you have only to make a choice... | |

| I listen to Dr. James McDonald on the radio for his Walk on the Word series. I love the way he talks and brings you into his sermons. This books is no different. He is actually having a one on one conversation with you and discussing the several choices you must make in your life. I have also listened to his program regarding this topic so it was very helpful when reading this. It was also very pleasant to read the words since it is sometimes easier for me to read what someone is saying. Again, he brought me to him and sat me down as a friend would discuss helpful directions what to do in a particular situation. This is truly another keeper for the library: a reference to look back on time and time again. I would keep it next to my copy of the Purpose Driven Life. This book however I think goes in more depth than the Purpose Driven Life but both are very good reference tools. | |
